Too much carbo loading may make you feel drowsy

MANILA, Philippines?If you can max out your credit card, you can likewise max out your body. The question is how can one maintain a high body energy level at all times.

Here are a few tips.

Balance. Try not to focus on anything that will create imbalance. Balance work, home/family, worship and health. Dr. Gary Zukav explains in ?The Heart Of The Soul? that unusual immersion in any one task/person/object/habit may be a sign of denial, running away from issues that have not been addressed for a long time.

Rest. Even if your work schedule is not the normal 9 a.m.-5 p.m. schedule, sleep is crucial to good health.

Keep calm. Keeping the lid on your mood swings helps to maintain calm. Studies show that emotions have a direct effect on your health. Thus, the more happy feelings you nurture, the healthier you will become.

Get raw. The less you cook your food, the higher the nutrient content, the better nourished your body is. Good nourishment equals more energy.

Enzyme support. Enzymes assist in digesting your food properly. Even if you eat tons of veggies, if your stomach doesn?t have enough enzymes, your body will not be able to absorb nutrients.

Tip: Have a light serving of fruit like papaya whose enzymes are highly beneficial.

Exercise. Move your body to get your circulation going. Hormonal imbalance, weight and circulatory problems can be addressed with regular exercise. Moreover, it has an anti-aging effect on the body.

Good fat. Stay away from transfats and hydrogenated fats. They will weaken your immune system and eventually make you ill. Moreover, you still need fat for good metabolism. So, don?t worry if your fat intake comes from vegetables or animals. Just maintain a good balance.

Go low protein/carbohydrates. The egg is called the complete protein, the perfect food. It contains the highest protein rating of any kind of food. Packed with vitamins and minerals, it is perfect for energy production and stress management.

A diet high in carbohydrates leads to ?sleeping syndrome.? So, don?t wonder why you feel drowsy after having a big pasta serving. Take enough carbohydrates based on your workload. If you are not too busy, cut back on your carbo load or it will become fat.
