Inside Out
Try new things daily to stimulate your brain

MANILA, Philippines—There are ways to slow down or delay the ravage of time and stress. Here’s how:

Keep it low. Your blood pressure can be controlled by regular exercise, managing/ losing weight, learning to relax more, decreasing sugar, fat, sodium intake, eating more vegetables/garlic/onions.

Stay fit. Commit yourself to any kind of physical activity like a daily 30-minute brisk walk. Try to engage in one sport. Consider it bonding time with friends or family, whether it be basketball, bowling or weight-training in the gym.

Slow down. Chronic fatigue, allergies, chills, sore throat, migraine, yeast/bacterial infections are symptoms of a depressed immune system. More often than not, it’s caused by physical and emotional stress.

Therefore, turn down your activity level by a notch or two. It can only help you unburden the body of undue punishment caused by uncontrolled ambition and overwork. Remember, the more time you devote to work, the less time you have for yourself.

Always ask advice from your physicians. But consider using natural supplements like 200-400 iu of Vitamin E with selenium to alleviate some of your problems like hot flashes (menopause).

Erectile dysfunction. Take 60 mg ginkgo biloba three times a day, two to four capsules of saw palmetto and two tablets of zinc daily.

Insomnia. One 250-mg chelated calcium and 125-mg magnesium thrice daily and 3 tablets magnesium 30 minutes before bedtime. Take a warm glass of milk.

Body aches/pains. Increase your calcium intake. Take 400-1,000 iu of vitamin E thrice daily.

Think young

It’s the everyday sameness of things that contributes to your boredom. Try something new today. Sometimes it’s just as simple as changing the way you part your hair or your choice of wardrobe color. Stimulate the brain to think and act differently. The result? A younger you.

Rejuvenating bath

In a tub of warm water, mix 2 tbsp virgin coconut oil and olive oil. Throw in one sliced lemon and one orange (juices and skin). Take half an orange and rub it all over your body. This will rejuvenate you.

Affirm: “I am all new today!”

Love and light!
