MANILA, Philippines—Washington Wizards’ Gilbert Arenas had a blast when Agent Zero spread the word about Adidas’ campaign on basketball as a “brotherhood that inspires passion, sacrifice and commitment”.
Agent Zero Tour 2008 included tons of mall tours, community events and tres exclusive parties, dahlings. The Manila Peninsula Conservatory was packed with Adidas retailers. They were welcomed by Adidas managing director, Joey Singian, and his rah! rah! team.
Awarded that night, palanggas, were the three most awesome retailers of the Gil footwear, like Adidas concept shops in SM Mall of Asia, Gateway Mall and Power Plant Mall; managed by Sports Central, RDD Intertrade and Adrenaline Sporting Goods.
The following day was busier than ever at malls where Gilbert met Agent Zero Tour 2008 promo winners who had their Arenas jerseys autographed.
That night, one namedroppable even commented. “You know what, Maurice, basketball players will never have a union.” Why? moi asked. “No player wants to be called out on strike.” Moi had a good laugh on that, palanggas.
At TriNoma, with Arenas wearing his Agent Zero cape, Paolo Bediones made sure that the crowd knew more about the Gil II Zero collection.
The fun but exhausting tour ended with an exclusive grand farewell bash, dahlings, at the swinging Alchemy. When Arenas arrived, everyone partied like there was no tomorrow. Wow!
Ford Explorer was the official vehicle for the Gilbert Arenas Agent Zero Tour 2008.
1st Eurowine festival
Wine and food lovers were treated to Mandarin Oriental, Manila’s grand celebration of EuroWine 2008, in partnership with the International Wine and Spirits Association. The one-night-only wine and food celebration took Cosmo-Manille through a hedonistic journey around the continent. Eye-catching stalls representing France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Portugal were filled with the best of continental wines, dahlings.
Old World wines’ popularity has somehow weakened in the past few years. “While their popularity has somewhat diminished, European wines have maintained their glory,” said Mandarin Oriental, Manila’s general manager, and grand gourmand and connoisseur, Helmut Geisberger, no less, palanggas. The master of ceremonies was young wine expert Ines Cabarrus.
After the drinking and digging into fantastic dishes, invitees got a chance to bid on awesome vacation packages from Lufthansa, Swiss Air, Mandarin Oriental (naturellement), El Nido Resorts, Maribago Bluewater Resort, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino, plus tons of other five-star resorts and hotels around the country, palanggas, and wine packages from La Tienda and the ever-reliable International Wine and Spirits Association.
For extras, we enjoyed the soothing jazz music from Skaramouche, a band from Switzerland.

The event also put up exciting discounts on travel gear from top brands like Victorinox, Samsonite and North Face.
No wonder the event was a smashing success that left smiles on the faces of Travel Club’s hotshots, dahlings.
