Eton launches ‘most exciting’ project

MANILA, Philippines?Eton Properties Philippines is on a roll.

After launching several big-ticket property developments last year, Eton recently unveiled plans for what it dubbed as its ?most exciting? project.

Eton Centris, the sprawling 12-hectare land centrally located in Quezon City, is poised to change the city?s skyline with its urbane masterplan and distinctively modern architecture.

Being the last single largest privately-owned developable land in QC, Centris serves as a catalyst to jumpstart the city?s proposed 250-hectare new central business district, Triangle Park.

Already, the property promises to be an experience to behold.

Once completed, this self-sustaining community would be haven for comfort for its residents with its transit-oriented and environment-friendly stance that is unlike any other.

Being at the heart of Triangle Park allows Centris to benefit from a direct connection to the Quezon Avenue MRT station as well as two major thoroughfares: Edsa and Quezon Avenue. Truly, one does not need to depend on a private car for mobility to live in this community.

The proposed Triangle Park, in which Eton Centris is fronting, is a P3-billion project envisioned to be the ?center of gravity of commercial developments in Metro Manila,? similar to what is Ortigas Center to Pasig and Mandaluyong City or what the Makati CBD is to Makati City.

Centris is the second major township development of Eton Properties following the launch of its almost 1,000-hectare Eton City project in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Eton president and COO Danilo Ignacio said that Centris is a high-end development master-planned to be a dynamic, fully-integrated property which features a mix of commercial, retail, office and residential components.

The property?s vast land area would be home to 10 residential condominiums, seven office buildings, a park, a businessman?s hotel, a neighborhood mall, and an entertainment block, among many others.

The establishment?s parking space is so huge it can accommodate 1,000 cars at any given time. That?s less headache for people looking for parking spaces. Planned access roads are to ease traffic in the Edsa-Quezon Avenue area.

Making use of ?green architecture,? Eton Centris would maximize the power of solar panels that is to be used to power streetlights and landscape in the establishment.

According to Ignacio, the company has deliberately shied away from the US market and instead moved its marketing efforts to places where there is a high concentration of overseas Filipino workers.

This is because OFW remittances, along with low interest rates and favorable housing terms, has helped the company exceed its sales target in 2007.

Ignacio said Eton Properties is now giving more attention on medium-rise development that caters to high-end and middle-income earners alike.

The first of three phases of an integrated plan to develop the 12-hectare property is in full swing. The first phase covers 40 percent of the whole development.

Just recently, the company held topping-off ceremonies for the first of several high-tech business process outsourcing buildings in Centris - the One Cyberpod Centris. The 12-storey building has a gross area of 18,000 square meters and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Phase 2 sees the Centris Walk, the development?s entertainment hub, come to life. Slated for completion by the 3rd quarter of next year, Centris Walk is a high-end dining and retail strip that features a variety of upscale restaurants and bars as well as top brands and retail shops.

Inspired by the success of innovative retail districts in Timog Avenue and Tomas Morato - where some of the city?s most vibrant food and entertainment spots are to be found - the Centris Walk is to be a ?choice destination? for lifestyle activities.

Taking centerstage at Centris? main shopping area is the Centris Station, the 2-storey mall which is part of the company?s Phase 3 development plan. Centris Station would enjoy a direct connection to the Quezon Avenue MRT station once it is completed by the 4th quarter of 2009.

The mall would also anchor SM Hypermarket, which interestingly puts to work two of the country?s biggest taipans in one project: Eton Properties chair Lucio Tan and SM founding chair Henry Sy.

Residential condominiums would be introduced next year to complete the whole integrated ?work-play-live? concept of the development. The Central Park, a huge park in the middle of the property, would be open for the public to enjoy.

Since the company changed its primary purpose from a holding company to property development in 2007, it has launched nine other projects including The Eton Residences Greenbelt, Eton Baypark Manila, Eton Emerald Lofts, Eton Parkview Greenbelt, Belton Place, One Archers Place, Eton Cyberpod Corinthian, North Belton Communities, and South Lake Village.
