IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST IF NOT THE best Halloween bash to hit Cosmo Manille at the swinging Embassy Superclub, palanggas.
Famous for hosting the most extravagant and outlandish parties, the club was transformed into a “vampire castle” where Embassy Fly becoming a dungeon/ torture chamber. Gorgeous gals in lingerie danced in cages and torture beds were situated in all areas inside the club.
Embassy’s loyal patrons and VIPs came donned in their favorite vampire costumes, while being served by waiters also in costumes, dahlings.
To add more dash, theater actors were hired to mingle in the interactive photo-op areas like bedroom and living rooms. The event’s highlight was choosing the three best in costumes who were all awarded with luxurious prizes and trips to different five-star resorts around the islands.
By the time I went home, I felt I went into the twilight zone, palanggas. Wow! Thank goodness, witches and ghost night come just once a year, ’di bala!
Cartier’s new look
Leave it to upscale, plush Rustan’s Makati to launch one of the chic-est brand names in the world during this holiday season, palanggas.
“Timing” was the word of Rustan’s when they unveiled Cartier’s fab watches and accessories, dahlings. Superbly hosted by Stores Specialists Inc. with Citibank, we were treated to an evening of elegance that reflected the spirit of La Maison Cartier, naturellement.
With swanky interiors, the newly opened Cartier boutique boasts the brand’s new design—Bronze.
“This design concept follows other Cartier boutiques all over the world,” explained Cartier’s area manager, Jonas Zagury.
Luxurious watches and clocks are all together on one side while the elegant accessories are on the other. Exclusive to the evening’s opening were red curtain-like strings defining the large panels depicting the most iconic Cartier timepieces and the celebrities who wore them, giving us a visual tour through the brand’s history, dahlings.
Cartier’s Zagury, with Store Specialists Inc. executive vice president Anton Huang; country business manager for Citibank Philippines Mark Jones; Cartier loyal customers, Citigold and Citibank’s wealth-management banking service clients were très-très visible, celebrating this legendary brand, palanggas.
For entertainment, we chilled out to smooth jazz music from renowned band Manila Paris Confidential, while we sipped the bubbly, courtesy of Moët et Chandon, natch.
Après drinking a bit too much of the bubbly, one socialite told me, “I have three Cartier watches. I love it. It’s so chic and prestigious. More so, because it’s no problem moving it to and from the pawnshop.” Hey, this is one smart woman, n’est ces pas?

The Shom-IBF partnership has made financial and material donations to charitable institutions like the Association for the Rights of Children in Southeast Asia, Philippine Christian Foundation Inc., Handicap International Philippines and Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (also known as Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco).
