COLOR reigns in Shu Uemura's new stand-alone boutique
After six years in the Philippines, Shu Uemura recently opened its first stand-alone boutique at the second level of Power Plant Mall's North Wing.
Beauty addicts describe it as "a haven of Zen for beauty fans," and many of them will likely feel like little girls in a candy store.
The boutique carries everything from foundations to lashes. Whether you're looking for a little lash extension or aching for crazy, over-the-top lashes, the store is equipped with everything you need to transform yourself into a superstar or drag queen.
From catering to walk-in customers, group reservations, VIPs or interested parties for the Atelier Learning Program (classes that teach customers everything about beauty), Shu's new beauty zone has got it covered.
Pinoy talent
The shop's unveiling was also the occasion for Shu Uemura to honor 10 Filipino makeup artists who showcased their artistic talents in a show called Fashion Reveal.
It was wonderful to see makeup that was out of the ordinary. Models walked around in bright eye colors?pop-art shades of orange and fuchsia. Some had succulent lips in hues of Bordeaux and berry stains, while others kept it very Renaissance using shades of pink and old rose.
Smokey eyes rendered in shades of mint green were my favorite.
Innovation and conceptual design definitely did not fall short, as one model had her entire lip covered with colorful Swarovski crystals, while another had spotted brown feather lashes.
The Fashion Reveal was truly a showcase of unique makeup expressions by Filipino artists.
A common piece of advice from them: "Don't be afraid of color. Makeup is one of the best ways to reveal a person's essence. An artistic color palette enhances one's individual beauty and allows for unique makeup expressions."
