Charms for the good life

THERE’S nothing quite like receiving a present that comes in Tiffany & Co.’s iconic blue box. Even before you set your eyes on what’s inside, you already know you’re getting something special because, well, someone thinks that you are special as well.

Immortalized in the 1961 movie “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” where a gamine Audrey Hepburn spent her early mornings outside the flagship 5th Avenue store, Tiffany & Co. was founded by Charles Lewis Tiffany in 1837.

It began as small stationery and fancy goods store in New York, eventually expanding to silver hollowware and flatware to jewelry.

As a reaction to the opulence of the Victorian era, the brand’s design aesthetic was marked by simplicity, harmony and clarity.

Today, Tiffany & Co. is best known for its luxurious gifts meant to celebrate and mark life’s most important moments. The brand is also popular for its engagement-ring style, the Tiffany Setting, a pioneering design that showcases the brilliance of a diamond by lifting it above the ring band with six platinum prongs.

In Manila, Tiffany & Co. recently reopened its doors in Rustan’s Makati with the unveiling of its latest collection: Charmed by Tiffany.

The collection is composed of sterling-silver and gold jewelry loaded with charms that you can mix, match and collect.

The pretty charms can be worn in many different ways—as bag charms, attached to key rings or belts or hanging from fine Tiffany chains or chunkier chain-link bracelets.

They’re perfect stocking stuffers, as the selection of charms include bold letters, numbers, hearts and famous icons including the Tiffany Blue Box, Atlas, 1837 and Return to Tiffany. Each little charm can mark a special occasion while you build a collection.

Next time you receive that Tiffany blue box, you can be certain something special awaits—a little something that’s symbolic of your charmed life.
