Without Batting An Eyelash
A tycoon’s best friend

SINCE I?m a watch freak, palanggas, I just had to be there when that watch with prestige and glamour, Omega, naturellement, opened its second boutique at the upscale Greenbelt 5.

Très charmant Omega president Stephen Urquhart, no less, jetted in from Switzerland for the opening. During the launch, one did not miss Omega?s favorite gorgeous couple, Richard and Lucy Gomez, dahlings, plus Omega?s hot executives.

?We are happy that we will be able to make our full product range available to them after 60 years in the Philippines, and in this relaxed and luxurious environment,? Urquhart said.

During the event, one guest told me, ?Did you hear that this tycoon had a waterproof, shockproof, unbreakable, antimagnetic gold watch, and lost it?

?Was it insured?? I asked.

?No, he went out and bought another one the following day.? Oh well, so what else is new?

Anyway, the special Omega watch was up for grabs and Lucy placed the watch in a transparent vault, locked it and dropped the key in a huge transparent bowl with other keys in it. Omega?s moneyed buyers were allowed to pick out one key from this bowl and the lucky one that picked out the right key would bring home the Seamaster packaged in a George Clooney-signed box.

Omega?s world-class collections were on exhibit, including the new Seamaster Planet Ocean, 600m Quantum of Solace Limited Edition Watch, Seamaster Aqua Terra and Constellation.

Lawmaker?s birthday bash

Smart Rep. Ronald Singson of the 1st District of Ilocos Sur, turned a year wiser and healthier and he celebrated it in fun fashion at Embassy Fly.

The bash was attended by name-droppables, politicians, hot celebrities and the hip social set.

The invitees boozed up on limitless flowing champagne. Hot live bands courtesy of Jay Server played great music. The dancing was continued through the R&B mash-up music by Embassy?s swinging DJ Ace and DJ Mars.

Singson is one young representative who knows how to share his blessing with his pals and kin.

Cheers, palangga.

New development

I couldn?t believe the amount of invitees who gathered for the truly splendid exclusive sellers? launch of Robinsons Land Corp?s (RLC) latest baby, the luxurious residential project, Vimana Private Villas. The launch was held at the Crowne Plaza Galleria.

Vimana will rise at the heart of Pasig City. It consists of 30 townhouse units, with a total floor area of 230 sq m. It has tons of amenities and offers ultimate premium to quality living.

Present were RLC frontliners and executives like Land Corporation Housing and Land Development Division (RLC-HLDD) general manager Marilu Alferez, SVP for sales and marketing Raoul Edwards Littaua and VP for operations and special projects Christopher Narciso. They entertained the guests in true Robinsons? way, natch!

Adidas race

There were over 5,000 road warriors who participated in this year?s edition of Adidas, King of the Road, dahlings. It was held on Bonifacio High Street in Global City, and it was divided into three categories?for 5k, 10k and 21k distance running.

Speedsters Alley Quisay and Mercedita Fetalbero bagged the King and Queen of the Road honors in the 10k category, clocking in an impressive 32:22 and 36:35 minutes, respectively. They each got a trophy, P5,000 cash and P3,000 worth of gift certificates.

In the 21K distance, winners were Bernardito Desamito and Jho-an Banayag, who clocked in 1:12:08 and 1:19:01 respectively. They each got a trophy and P10,000 cash plus P10,000 worth of gift certificates.

I asked one of the runners what the best way of finishing early was. He replied: ?Make sure to take all the B vitamins you can swallow. And push yourself ?til you think you?re about to die.?

Also taking place was the Run for Love campaign, now on its second year. Pledgers were given a limited-edition Adidas Run for Love wristband. Proceeds will go to Adi Dassler development projects, as well as Gawad Kalinga.

?The Adidas AdiStar Revolt trail-running shoes is perfect for road-lovers with its monster-grip Traxion outsoles and extended forefoot Torsion for first class levels of comfort and protection during any hike or run on challenging grounds,? said Goody Custodio, Adidas sports marketing manager.
