FOR its fantastic 10th anniversary, world-class Franck Provost Manila unveiled its latest très chic salon, the excellently designed Franck Provost Studio, at the Net Quad Building in Fort Bonifacio.

The new salon will specialize in color.

?Our Color Bar that we created here at the Studio is truly unique, catering to anyone in search of a great hairstyle, using color as a statement,? said très charmant French stylist Laurent Hebert, who has been with FP for the last three years.

The launch was hosted by my favorite traffic stopper, Tessa Prieto Valdes, and attended by none other than Franck Provost himself, dahlings. He and his president and COO, Mark Aublet, jetted in from Paris.

The grand opening was hosted by women of substance, Baby Cruz and Ising Vasquez, who have held the franchise since 1998. The two women entertained the over 100 invitees. There was endless wine and champagne, as well as an excellent buffet table, catered by La Tasca, naturellement.

In the elaborate ribbon-snipping ceremony, ribbons were cleverly tied to the hair of models. Hot guests of honor included Imelda Marcos, Kaye Chua Tinga, the spouse of Taguig Mayor Freddie Tinga and businessman Jacques Dupasquier on a really rare night out, palanggas.

One thing I can say: Lots of women still believe in miracles and if you don?t think so, just visit any Franck Provost Beauty Salon and you?ll see that miracles come true.

Cheers to stockings

The Conservatory of Peninsula Manila Hotel was turned into a ?Moulin Rouge?-inspired showcase of legs, legs and more legs of multifaceted when talented designer Kate Torralba held a fashion show to launch her collection for City Lady Stockings, dahlings.

The stage was set up in such a way that only the wow legs of the models were showing; they wore Torralba?s Leg Love line.

The sight of legs of course elicited loud cheers and applause from the full-house crowd, palanggas.

?I?ve had this love affair with stockings for the longest time, Maurice,? Kate told me. ?This figure of mine might be petite but stockings really do add that oomph that matches my larger-than-life style.?

Knowing KT?s flair for the avant-garde, I checked out the Leg Love line, which is fun and flirty. It is sooo KT.

As my eagle eye paced the venue, I thought to myself, in the past years women pay more and more for less clothes, so now we have Kate?s chi-chi stockings that will go well with the dress-up or dress-down leggy crowd, di bala!

Aside from the hotshots executives of Manila Bay Hosiery Mills, in the audience were marketing manager of Bizu Patisserie Audrey Tanco, Mich Mella, Grace Sy, Katrina Yu, Lia Colayco, and gorgeous Miriam Quiambao and Issa Litton.

Check out Kate?s Leg Love at all SM Department stores and at Kate Torralba?s boutique in Makati.

Samsung race

The Manila Peninsula?s Conservatory was buzzing with excitement when Samsung Innov8 Race opened with game master, good-looking Vince Hizon, introducing the teams.

The eight teams were composed of four members: a celebrity, a member of the press, a Samsung dealer and a Samsung marshall. They had to race through eight pit stops while testing the features of the mobile phone, palanggas.

Clues were sent to them via Bluetooth so that they could complete their task correctly in every destination. The race took them around Metro Manila, Makati and The Fort.

They used the Samsung Innov8?s NavFone GPS, taking panoramic shots and videos in the process, The last stop was at Blue Leaf Events Pavillion, McKinley Hill where they had to frame their shots.

Team Mosaic won. Each member bagged a cool new Samsung Innov8 mobile phone, no less, dahlings.

The following night Samsung Innov8 made its grand debut at the Blue Leaf Events Pavillion. Welcoming the invitees were Samsung vice president for marketing Charles Choi and other top executives. The invitees partied till way pass midnight.

I asked one of the team runners days later, ?How do you concentrate while dashing from one place to the others??

He replied: ?My trick is wearing a pair of shoes a size smaller, so that the pain on my feet would become so strong that I put all my concentration to end the race the fastest way I could.? He was laughing.
