Without Batting An Eyelash
4 show biz folks celebrate victories

ALICE in Wonderland should have been the theme when banker and businessman Noel Oñate held a celebration bash for statuesque international beauty and TV star Ruffa Gutierrez at his sprawling home in an upscale village.

The multicolored wonderland with Tiffany lights wowed the invitees, palanggas. It was a Christmas get-together of Ruffa’s close pals to celebrate milestones like Best Female Showbiz Oriented Talk Show Host given to Ruffa at the 22nd PMPC Star Awards.

Her brother, observant Raymond Gutierrez, won Best Male Lifestyle Host for “QTV Living It Up”; la simpatica Rufa Mae Quinto and Ogie Alcasid won Best Comedy Actress and Actor, dahlings.

The ever consistent La Tasca did a fantastic job catering during this fun evening, palanggas. There were paella, sea bass, lamb shank, salad bar, appetizer bar with caviar salmon crepes, salami, empanadas and five different cheeses with grapes and walnuts, natch; with sinful desserts such as mango canonigo, strawberry shortcake and fruit truffle with tons of cream. It was much too rich for me but I had La Tasca’s to-die-for bibingka.

It was a super fun night celebrated by some of the most beautiful faces on the ramp and TV who sang their lungs out till 3 a.m. Now, that’s a party, palanggas, ’di bala?

New Bacchus outlet

Bacchus Épicerie recently opened its latest baby at Rockwell Power Plant Mall with Manolo Lopez and wife Maritess Lagdameo, a true connoisseur herself, doing the ribbon-snipping with Rockwell Land president Nestor Padilla and, naturellement, the proud owners of Bacchus épicerie, Alex and Clifford Lichaytoo.

“Bacchus Épicerie is a specialty store that contains the finest brands of food items and kitchenware imported from the United States and Europe.”

Its polished interiors with steel frames lining wooden shelves are the superb creation of popular Maja Olivares-Co, dahlings.

To add more dash, Alex told us that Bacchus Épicerie, every week starting next year, will conduct regular tea, chocolate and wine tasting. Now this is really something worth looking forward to, palanggas.

Check out Bacchus Épicerie on Lopez Drive, Power Plant Mall, near the entrance.

“It carries the finest products from De Cecco pasta and Lavazza coffee to Valrhona chocolates and USDA prime-grade. Plus our awesome selection of fantastic wines and spirits, superb cookware brands like Le Creuset and Mepra, plus an amazing array of Japanese MAC knives.”

Carol Lopez birthday

Yacap Party List young representative and achiever, brilliant Carol Lopez, celebrated her birthday in Congress, dahlings. An impromptu dinner was held amidst the long budget hearing which ended (would you believe) at 4 a.m. with all the young legislators who really needed this fun break. The event featured lots of food catered by Albergus and liquor which was sneaked in (Shhh!).

Her invitees included some of the country’s movers and shakers like Representatives Dato Arroyo, Eskimo Estrella, Speaker Prospero Nograles, Mindanao Block Representatives Sid Ungab, Vince Garcia, José Aquino, Bambi Emano, Ronald Singson, Mark Cagas, Joey Zubiri, Rommel Amatong and Anton Lagdameo, smart lady legislators Darlene Antonino-Custodio plus other smart gals and PR man on the move Ayo Gunting, natch.

Naturellement, when asked the usual question, “How old are you?” she just answered with a shy smile and “Guess.”

But mind you, palanggas, she’s still single and available. No love life for the moment, dahlings.

Nancy Harel marks 25th year

It was a sparkling soiree, palanggas, that marked the silver anniversary of one of our town’s respected ad and PR agencies, Nancy Harel & Associates Inc (NHAI). The celebration, which also marked Nancy’s birthday, was attended by clients, their past and present employees and media partners who made the occasion memorable.

The agency’s multifaceted CEO, adorable Nancy Harel, along with her dynamic staff, welcomed and entertained invitees, dahlings.

A video presentation on NHAI’s “Seasons of Love” took the invitees down memory lane, followed by dancing and songs by the NHAI staff for their boss Nancy H. It was followed by an excellent dinner hosted by the renowned steakhouse Melo’s, home of certified Angus beef and wagyu, no less, dahlings.

Throughout its 25 years, NHAI has helped tons of brands grow.

Have a merry Christmas with your beloved famille and friends.
