MORE than a tradition, making resolutions is borne out of an instinct for renewal. Here?s a guide to your wellness lifestyle goals.
1. Don?t look back. What happened yesterday should serve as a lesson to be learned. Tell yourself over and over again, ?There is no turning back? or ?Full steam ahead!?
2. Get organized. Write down all the goals you have set for yourself but never accomplished. Categorize them according to physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and financial. Example: Physical?I will become more fit this year by losing 10 lb, enrolling in a gym, etc.
3. Eat better. Always remember, the more colorful, the healthier, i.e., vegetables, fruits, sprouts (alfalfa, radish, bean). Consume as many portions of raw, fresh salads as possible. Uncooked food (not meat/fish) is enzyme-rich. Include raw vegetable/fruit juices in your daily diet. Alternate the combinations?carrot, coconut, cucumber, sugar beets, moringa (malunggay), romaine lettuce, cabbage, apple, pineapple, etc.
4. Load up on alkaline, antioxidant-rich water if possible. Diet and health-conscious individuals should take two glasses upon waking up (add a squeeze of lemon or 1 tsp coco-vinegar or apple cider vinegar with ? tsp honey if you wish), two glasses 45 minutes before a meal, and two more glasses midmorning and mid-afternoon. This will detox your body and assist in controlling cholesterol.
5. Exercise. If you don?t use the muscle, you lose the firmness. Emphasize on the word regular.
6. Laugh. It?s one of the most effective ways to delay aging and illness. Every time you laugh, your brain releases endorphins, feel-good hormones that boost the immune system.
7. Love. Loving persons have sparkle in their eyes. And because they know how to tap its powers, they can give without conditions. The result? Love in return.
8. Forgive. Sounds easy, though difficult. However, did you know that informal studies prove the high incidence of cancer among those who hold on to their bitterness?
9. Get rid of your baggage, inside and out. When you unload the unwanted, your inner tightness will radiate outward.
10. If a job needs to get done, do so with pleasure. The best kind of work is the one that brings enjoyment. If it isn?t, it is called stress.
11. Pray with faith. Once you place your life in God?s hands, all will be well. Believe that life is as magnanimous as God?s own heart.
