MARK Castillo and Mia Cabral spoofed it up during an audio-visual presentation in preparation for their Feb. 7 wedding, which will be held at the chapel of St. Therese at UP. Reception follows at Splash Mountain in Los Baños. The images I made for the couple were inspired by Norman Rockwell, my idol in visual arts.
Mia?s mom, Lea, is the sister of my dear friend from high school, Eva Pagkaliwagan-Reyes, who now works as an executive secretary at IRRI. (Lea and her husband, Herminio Cabral, have recently retired from their jobs as a teacher and banker, respectively.)
Values
The bride and groom have known each other for 17 years. They first met at UP Rural High School in Los Baños, but only ?noticed? each other in first year college when they discovered that they shared the same values and goals. They both loved music, books and films, but their different preferences have allowed them to learn from each other. They later realized that the reason why they lasted as sweethearts was the fact that they laughed a lot together.
At UP Los Baños, Mark finished a degree in Agribusiness Management, while Mia finished Development Communication. They?re now professors at UPLB, where Mark teaches marketing and management courses, while Mia is connected with UPCA?s science communication department. (Mark?s parents, Dr. Arturo S.A. Castillo and Prof. Stella Villa A. Castillo, are also professors at UPLB?s College of Forestry.)
The couple looks forward to a happy and prosperous life together. Best wishes!
