Knockout!
Making your falsies truly you

I?VE been thinking of false eyelashes lately since I?ve received a couple of mail inquiring about them and my sister-in-law Tessa, I believe, is the queen of falsies. Sometimes I catch myself staring at or asking her questions about them. She normally has two simple answers? they?re the easiest way to rev up your look and they?re so much fun to use.

Three years ago I had lash extensions done. Unlike falsies they can last for at least three weeks if a professional applies them and if cared for properly. To be honest, this is something I would never do again simply because the adhesive they used hurt. Plus, since I moved a lot while asleep, upon waking up, I?d find them twisted; some strands would prick my eye.

Maybe they just weren?t for me since I ended up taking them out one strand at a time, which was difficult but all worth it.

But I?ve seen some girls who seem very pleased with their eyelash extensions.

False eyelashes, however, don?t seem as harsh to the eyes and user. They?re just more appealing to me.

Practice makes perfect. First step?familiarize yourself with the falsies. Get lashes closest to the length of your eyes.

Snip lashes that are too long. It?s better to cut more, than carry the excess length after you?ve applied them since they would be almost impossible to cut out.

Also before sticking them, try to flex them; this will follow the natural contour of your lash line. The idea is to stick them as close as you can get on your eyelashes.

Tricks and removal

Apply lashes after you?ve done your eye makeup, curled your lashes and applied mascara. Also, if you plan to use eyeliner, liquid liners are better since they won?t smudge with the adhesive.

When removing falsies, do not pull them out since you might pull your real lashes with them.

Invest in good eyelash makeup remover. For cheap alternative, ordinary olive oil or virgin coconut oil will do.

Clean your lashes with water until they loosen up. One thing good about falsies is that if you care for them properly, you can use them over and over again.
