MANILA, Philippines ? Super hot hunks and gorgeous bodies with super intelligence to boot were enough to make the rainy night sizzle during the successful Century Tuna Superbods 2009: Bods and Brains Challenge, held at the popular, superbly renovated world-class Pearl of the Pacific in Boracay. The venue was packed with hot celebrities and appreciative onlookers, dahlings.

This Century Tuna 2009 happening, dahlings, was definitely the ?It? event where everyone enjoyed surprises and loads of freebies.

The rains didn?t stop 24-year-old good-looking entrepreneur Van Victor Leano and 21-year-old music student Theresa Fenger from oozing with sexiness that made them the male and female winners of this popular competition.

The 18 candidates all possessed drop-dead healthy bodies but super healthy minds as well, palanggas.

Van Victor and Theresa, who both love sports and music, wowed the chosen elite panel of judges, composed of former Miss Universe and award-winning actress Gloria Diaz; fashion designer Rajo Laurel; director Sid Maderazo; Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Zo Aguila; fashion photographer Jun de Leon; PC&V Communications vice president Ariel Comia; Century Tuna senior brand manager Angela Gamboa, and moi (in absentia, unfortunately, palanggas), with their exceptionally cyber-smart answers during the question and answer portion hosted by Joey Mead and Marc Nelson.

The two winners won an awesome half a million pesos each plus high-end digital cameras courtesy of YKL Fujifilm.

Aside from Century Tuna, which is packed with Omega 3, which promotes heart health and sharpens memory, the event?s other sponsors were Pearl of the Pacific, YKL Fujifilm, ETC, C2, A&F magazine, E-games, Havaianas, Charina Sarte swimsuits, Gilbey?s Premium Strength, Strip, The Ministry of Waxing and Envidia.

Celebrating 20 stylish years

It was pandemonium, when Samsung Metrowear 100 gathered 100, yes, palanggas, 100 fashion designers for the spectacular Metro Magazine 20th anniversary.

The show got on the roll with gorgeous colorful resort wear from 26 renowned Cebu designers.

Shooting our adrenaline higher were creations of the Young Designers Guild and Fashion and Design Council of the Philippines.

Next on spotlight were the Fashion Designers Association of the Philippines.

To close the show was the dean of Philippine fashion, Ben Farrales, whose smashing, gorgeous seven-piece collection featured the most exquisite of Filipiniana ensembles.

An audiovisual presentation showed Metro Society?s editor-in-chief Raul Manzano, who introduced the designers from Cebu. Singer/actress Karylle cheered for the Young Designers Guild while gorgeous host Mariel Rodriguez applauded the amazing designs.

Manila Hotel?s Tent City was where the affair was held.

Butch Albert birthday bash

World-renowned FILA brand?s mega main man, well-respected Butch Albert hosted a super-fun gathering of close pals and his family to celebrate another blessed year of his exciting life, dahlings. Instead of having it at a resto or club, Butch chose to entertain in the privacy of his well-interiored home with his gorgeous wife and business partner, Cris Albert, no less.

What made it so interesting was when I circulated and socialized with the different invited groups.

Among the guests were fashion icon and beauty Wanda Louwallien and brilliant actress Ana Abad Santos.

There were flowers everywhere superbly arranged by Cris A. The to-die-for buffet was catered by the hostess? favorite Bizu, dahlings; sounds by saxophonist Vince Lahora; and loads of singing by the invitees.

Well, leave it to our hostess to make sure everything went ?smooth as silk? for the birthday bash of her husband, Our King For a Day, Butch Albert, di bala, palanggas?
