MANILA, Philippines ? A partylist lawmaker urged the public not to spread the sex video of screen siren Katrina Halili and beauty doctor Hayden Kho.
Buhay partylist Representative Irwin Tieng also reminded parents and guardians to be ?extra watchful? of their children, who could view or download the video on the Internet.
?The more we do that [forward the sex video], the more we increase the risk of our children getting their hands on such morally corruptive video flicks,? he said in a statement.
Video clips showing Halili and Kho in a sexy dance, with nothing but their underwear on, has been posted on video sharing sites.
?It is just a matter of time before they [children] too will be downloading these morally unsound video flicks in their homes, in their friend?s houses, or in the Internet shops all over the country,?? Tieng said.
Tieng said some parents expressed alarm that their kids ? some as young as eight-years-old ? were interested in downloading the Halili-Kho sex video.
The Buhay lawmaker is the primary author of House Bill No. 4315 which criminalizes the recording of ?private act or acts and other violations of the privacy of an individual? by means of mobile phones or video cameras.
The bill, popularly known as the ?Anti-Cyber-Boso Bill,? sets a penalty of up to six years imprisonment and a fine of up to P500,000. ?Boso? is Filipino for peep.
In a separate interview, Camarines Norte Representative Liwayway Vinzons-Chato also pushed for the passage of another measure she authored, the Data Privacy Bill.
?Under my bill, anyone who publishes something like that without the consent of those involved can be charged,? she said.
Chato said she was ?outraged? with the circulation of the video ?because that can happen to anyone.?
Asked what she thought about reports that Kho might claim insanity as mitigating circumstance in case a court case was filed against him, Vinzons-Chato, who is also a lawyer said, ?He looks sane to me. I don?t know if being a sex maniac is insanity.?
