HI EMILY,
I am 27, single and employed in the retail industry as a warehouse assistant. My dilemma started early this year. I took the entrance exam for law in a university in our province. Then, I was offered a promotion that will relocate me ? which I accepted. Now, the College of Law informed me that I have passed the exam.
To be a lawyer has always been my childhood dream. I am gearing up for the new job but I don?t want to disappoint my superiors. And I am also thinking of my future. Retail jobs will not be forever and I don?t want to wake up one day thinking over the lost time. I want to study law. I will already be 31 by the time I finish. Would it still be possible to work and study at the same time?

Everything is possible. As they say, if there?s a will, there?s a way.
Wouldn?t you rather pursue your wish list while you?re still young, rather than look back on your life with regret? There?s nothing so heart-wrenching than mourning the chances you let slip by ? the ?could-haves? and ?should-haves.?
Thirty-one is not a bad age to start over. Haven?t you heard of this 85-year-old great-grandmother who went back to high school and got her diploma? Or this 58-year-old mother who went back to college to be a doctor?
A job will always be waiting for you, if you deserve it. Haven?t you proven your ability with your recent promotion?
Going through life is like going to war. You have to be well armed and ready to fight every battle. If you go to law school, you will bring a vast reservoir of knowledge to tackle problems big and small. There will be naysayers who will try to distract you from your goal, as well as friends who?ll make your spirit soar. Weigh both options and in the end, follow your heart. What will truly make you a complete person? Look beyond tomorrow or next year. What do you really want to be in this lifetime?
