THE SUPER-VIEWED GMA Network got together with industry partners friends and 300 personalities and namedroppables in an informal yet fun dinner party for the greatest pound-for-pound fighter and "Pambansang Kapuso" Manny Pacquiao, no less, palanggas, at the so "in" New World Renaissance Hotel, Makati.

Circulating and welcoming the invitees were GMA hotshot chairman, president and CEO Felipe L. Gozon; EVP and brilliant chief operating officer, well-respected Gilberto R. Duavit Jr., plus other top network namedroppable executives, who were joined by Solar Entertainment chairman and CEO William Tieng and dynamic president Wilson Tieng.

The event was also graced by officers of different industry partners-Johnson & Johnson Phils., Unilever Phil. Inc., PLDT, PNB, RFM, Starcom MediaVest Philippines, Smart Communications Inc., Procter & Gamble, Chowking, Goldilocks, Jollibee Food Corp. and Greenwich Pizza Corp., to name a few.

Snippets of HBO's 24/7 Special and the Pacquiao-Hatton fight dubbed "The Battle of East and West" were shown after dinner as part of the special program for the Pacman.

The happening was superbly hosted by tall, good-looking Paolo Bediones, who introduced the singer and band before the entrance of the champ, dahlings.

Highlighting this bash was the contract signing of the partnership of Manny Pacquiao with GMA Network and Solar Entertainment. Pacquiao also renewed his contract with GMA Network, which covers a starring role in a new sitcom.

Kapuso stars Rochelle Pangilinan and the hard-to-beat JayR entertained us. Then man of the year Manny Pacquiao got onstage and kept the invitees at the edge of their seats when he sang a few songs, including his new single "Lahing Pinoy," with the Lito Camo Band.

Now you know why it was definitely a night to remember, palanggas.

Fashion goes beyond borders

The chic French watch brand LuluCastagnette is now in the Philippines. Its dynamic managing director for Asia Pacific, Paschal Fanton, spoke to us about "how this globally recognized watch brand made its fashionable entrance into the country."

"We've always thought the Philippines is a good benchmark for fashion not only in Asia but worldwide. This is because whatever becomes a hit with the Filipinos ultimately becomes a hit with the rest of the world," P. Fanton assured us, dahlings.

True enough, through the launch of Urban Time in SM North Edsa, LuluCastagnette watches made a super-grand entrance in Manila. "We were very excited to introduce the LuluCastagnette watches to the Philippine market. Our watches come in unique and stylish designs that will perfectly suit the personality and style of the wearer," concluded Monsieur Fanton.

We also found out that Filipino women like basic colors with more experimental styles, but French women are more attracted to bolder color palettes that are done in classic styles.

The bottom line is, dahlings, no matter what the location or style preference is, both Filipino and French women would agree that fashion speaks a universal language, palanggas.

Powerade Team Pilipinas energized

With basketball's popularity, palanggas, our hot topnotch ballers have found a haven in Powerade Team Pilipinas.

This new squad composed of today's most electrifying basketball stars of the country is in the Fiba Asia Qualifying Championship. It's led by a dynamic powerhouse coaching staff like Yeng Guiao, Rhoel Nadurata, Marlon Celis, Kenneth Duremdes and Gee Abanilla. Now, that's kinda hard to beat, palanggas.

Sharing the players' insights and experiences as they compete with Asia's best teams, Powerade gave sports enthusiasts a chance to hear from the team members, namely, James Yap, Asi Taulava, Gabe Norwood, Ranidel de Ocampo, Mick Pennisi, Sonny Thoss, Jared Dillinger, Kerby Raymundo, Jayjay Heltebrand, Cyrus Baguio, Ryan Reyes, Willie Miller and Arwind Santos during a "meet and greet" afternoon at the Glorietta 4 Activity Center. The venue had tons of fans and press people gathered to see the basketball icons in person and show their support for them, dahlings.

Host Bill Velasco, renowned PBA courtside commentator, welcomed guests and called on the vice president for Public Affairs and Communication of Coca-Cola Export Corp., JB Baylon, who proudly expressed "just how much confidence he has on the team."

Then, the basketball players were introduced one by one in true hardcourt fashion, followed by autograph signing. Well, dahlings, the awesome Powerade Team Pilipinas is off to defend the nation's pride, challenged to give every game their best shot and capture the true spirit of the sport, the same way the dynamo Powerade does to every outstanding athlete.
