LEAVE it to the man about town, well-loved businessman, Guilly Rufino. He blew another candle for his exciting life by holding a colorful, fun salsa and Latin dance bash, palanggas. His guests included the Rufinos: Raffy, Tony, Marivic and Carlo.

Held at the swinging Temple Bar and Resto in Glorietta 2, the event had the invitees rocking the dance floor. It was headed by our King for a Day, Guilly R, with other fabulous dancers like Gloria Huang, Jocelyn Buendia, Gigi Barrera, Marzena Nowakowska and Guilly’s favorite dance instructors Johncy Maham and Mitch Dizon.

Later, still full of energy, our celebrator and some of his pals continued dancing at the Europa ballroom dance club ’til 3 a.m., dahlings.

‘It girls’ celebration

When two Cosmo Manille “It Girls,” BFFs Celine Gabriel and Rose Montenegro, working gals with the 4 Bs belonging to our town’s society set, have an awesome week-long birthday celebration, you can bet your last peso it’ll be a smashing super-fun success, dahlings. The celebration began with a casual party for their closest friends at the popular Distillery Bar in Fort Bonifacio and culminated with a grand one at the exclusive Members Only bar, also in Global City. It was hosted by their super good friends, young PR genius GP Reyes and brilliant entrepreneur Eric Cua, palanggas.

Also joining them were fellow celebrants like Matthew Lim, Samantha Yen and Victor Antonino. Also present were family and friends of the eyecatching birthday gals: Enrique Gonzalez, Clarisse Chiongbian, Dr. Carlos Gabriel, Dr. Anna Lopez-Gabriel, Quito Lopez, Greg Montenegro, Emily Montenegro, Fitz Puyat, Paolo Araneta, Mumph Ruiz, Manny del Rosario, Cary Lagdameo, Mark and Michelle Tagle, who were just a few of the name-droppable achievers who came in full force to join in that fun, fun week of booze, good food, super music and the best of company.

Cheers to all of you! Keep shaking and moving our town to intensity 9, palanggas.

Dusit Thani’s GM

The world-renowned Dusit Thani Manila’s super nice new general manager, Prateek Kumar, hosted an intimate event for their chosen top clientele. The happening had an excellently prepared menu of Italian food paired with ultra-premium wines from Tosca, dahlings. The wine list consisted of more than 160 items, a combination of Old World wines mainly from Italy and France and New World wines from Australia, United States and Chile.

Welcoming us was the hotel’s gentleman of the hour, Prateek Kumar and other hotshots of Dusit Thani.

After endless cocktails and a super dinner, many of us stayed on, savoring the incredible wines from the hotel’s Tosca resto, dahlings.

CPAs’ new office

Hotshot name-droppables jetted into town for the inauguration of Manabat Sanagustin & Co., CPAs’ new posh offices at the KPMG Center on Ayala Avenue, palanggas.

No less than the brilliant KPMG international deputy chairman and Asia Pacific chairman, John Harrison, with Korean Ambassador Choi Joong Kyung and First District Councilor young, smart Erwin Binay, who represented his father, Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, palanggas, did the ribbon snipping.

Guests of honor included: KPMG Asia Pacific chief operating officer, Graeme Bailey; Carlson Tong, chairman of KPMG Hong Kong and 10 other country achievers, chairmen of the ASPAC member firms and service line leaders, all attending the KPMG Asia Pacific board meeting hosted by Manabat Sanagustin & Co., with the Philippine firm represented by chairman and chief executive officer Roberto Manabat.

The endless cocktails and finger food were served to the firm’s partners, clients, business associates and government and industry luminaries like Finance Sec. Margarito Teves; Amando Tetangco, governor of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas; Fe Barin, chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission; man of the hour Ramon Ang, president and COO of San Miguel Corporation; dashing Lito Camacho, vice chairman of Credit Suisse Asia Pacific who jetted in from Singapore; Jose Nograles, PDIC president; Ernesto Cu, vice chairman of Globe Telecoms Inc.; and dynamic women of substance and stature Teresita Sy-Coson, vice chairman of SM Investments Corp., and Helen Y. Dee, chairperson of RCBC.

If that ain’t a whole lot of brilliant name-droppables, then I don’t know what is, palanggas.
