A READER asks if seeing something before it happens is a ?gift? or ?curse.?
Such mental powers used to be ignored, or worse, considered to be mere superstitions.
Not all cases of seeing the unseen forces and not all cases of foreseeing events can be attributed to hallucination or psychosis. They could in fact be the natural functioning of a portion of the human brain that is not yet fully understood or developed.
Mind control
Another reader said she could see events that would happen within days to people she knew. But one time, 20 years ago, something happened that bothered her. She was eating alone in the canteen. It came to her mind that a stranger, a man, would ask if he could join her. Shortly afterward, a man, indeed, approached her. No word was exchanged between them until the man had finished eating and left.
Her question was: ?Did I somehow command that man to sit beside me?? In other words, was she able to control his mind? This occurred to her because there were other seats available in the canteen. Why did he choose to join her instead? She was scared at the prospect of being able to control another person?s mind.
There are still many areas in our psyche that we do not understand. I believe we are using only a very small portion of our mental capabilities. Doctor William James, the father of modern psychology, estimated this to be at 10 percent. I think we are using even less than one percent of our mental capacities.
In my mind development courses, I always get amazed at what our minds can do. We had a case when a person, tuned in to a house in a remote viewing exercise, learned the combination of the security alarm system that only the husband and wife knew.
We should therefore not be surprised when such things happen. They may not happen very often, and not to everybody, for very few persons have such powers in a highly developed stage. But all of us, more or less, possess such ability. We should be thankful for such psychic gifts or perceptions.
