What beauty products newlyweds share

THE MAN of the house has a quick fix for everything in the house, save for one thing ? grooming. Remarkably, men don?t consider beauty products as toiletries. In fact, the only items they have in their toiletry kit are toothbrush and shaver.

Every wife knows that if you want your man to take charge of his skincare routine, you have to talk about it the way any guy would. Estimate its net worth and assets. Introduce him to the science behind it. Suggest its customizability like choosing a body kit and set of wheels for a car. Appeal to his ego, and don?t forget to mention the career bonus. Once your significant other realizes the importance and notices the difference, he?ll be hooked on it like the NBA playoffs.

As for the penny pinchers, there are a lot of products for men and women. I asked two men to let us in on their skincare routine and products they share with their wife.

?Me and my better half love the beach. We go every time we get the chance. The skincare product we share is Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Sunblock in SPF 50. She has sensitive skin and this definitely works for us.?
- Iñaki Misa, entrepreneur

?Most, if not all, of my grooming products have been bought by my wife, Marilen. Since I need to shave every day, the Kiehl?s Shaving Cream and Nivea Shaving Balm she buys for me come in very handy. My facial care habits are lousy, so thank God she started me on Avalon Organics Vitamin C Facial Toner from Healthy Options. She replaced my old shampoo and soap with Jason Organic Tea Tree Oil Shampoo and Organic Lavender Soap, also from Healthy Options. I used to think buying premium branded beauty products were just capriccio (i.e. capricious), but after prolonged use, I did feel the difference between my old brands and these premium ones. I guess most guys are fine with basic grooming, and it takes a woman?s touch to bring us to the next level.?
- Hans Montenegro, HR director, The Nielsen Company (Philippines) Inc.

Tips

We?ve heard of animal cruelty-free products. These are couple conflict-free, and it?s about time, too.

With a scent suitable for Men and Women, Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser helps reduce the appearance of enlarged pores for fresh and healthy-looking skin. It provides gentle exfoliation to help eliminate surface toxins from skin.

Texture Expert Lumicontrôle by L?Oréal Professionnel is a new styling line ideal for short hair. Applied to dry hair, it creates a smooth or bed-head look, perfect for layered and tapered cuts for him and her.
