IT WAS definitely like Hollywood's red carpet ultra-glamorous Oscar night during last Sunday?s Night for the Stars, which was indeed a Moment of Magic, dahlings.
Continuing the tradition of elegance on its third year, Star Magic, ABS-CBN?s premier talent development and management center, celebrated the successful Third Annual Star Magic Ball at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
Along with Star Magic heads, the hard-to-beat Johnny ?Mr. M.? Manahan and Mariole Alberto, present were Star Magic?s most celebrated actors and actresses to take part in the evening of all evenings, palanggas.
The stars came in full gorgeous force. There was endless pouring of Moët & Chandon, the world-famous champagne of fabulous celebrations, thanks to the brilliant chief representative of Moët-Hennessy Olga Azarcon, but who else, di bala, palanggas?
After the sumptuous dinner buffet we had at the new and really stunning Rizal ballroom of Makati Shangri-La, the show officially began.
ABS-CBN?s unmatchable president and COO, classy and elegant Charo Santos-Concio effortlessly carried herself with such poise and grace when she gave her welcome message.
Gorgeous hosts Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, along with Coke Smile Ambassadors Kim Chiu,
Enchong Dee and Shaina Magdayao were delightfully happy for being part of the annual celebration and for being Star Magic?s fabulous members.
Then, it was time to showcase the great talent Star Magic artists have. My favorite performance was the hip-hop showdown, featuring Rayver Cruz, Sam Concepcion, Mickey Perz and Thou Reyes along with kiddie dance floor dynamites Bugoy Carino and Izi Canillo.
The two youngsters, palanggas, were just so talented, they brought the house down with applause and whistles, palanggas.
A-class balladeer Martin Nievera?s mesmerizing songs captivated us all with a romantic song at the end. He said, ?Hi, Pops,? to the ooh?s and ahh?s of the invitees.
Special awards were handed out to Star Magic artists who truly stood out like dazzling diamonds.
For the individual awards, palanggas, John Lloyd, Bea, Anne Curtis and Yeng Constantino bagged the Most Stylish, Most Elegant, Most Glamorous and Most Fashion-Forward prizes, respectively.
The Classic Chic Pair Award went to sweethearts Billy Crawford and Nikki Gil while onscreen love team Maja Salvador and Rayver Cruz were named the Best Dressed Couple.
On the other hand, Piolo and KC Concepcion took home the Moët & Chandon Sparkling Couple of the Night award along with Kim and Gerald Anderson for the junior category.
Lastly, Coca-Cola?s choice for the Most Classic Chic Couple went to Mariel Rodriguez and Zanjoe Marudo.
For three years, Coca-Cola Philippines has been a proud partner of Star Magic, palanggas. No wonder the night was, without doubt, refreshing, dahlings.
And as always, a grand hip-hop/disco party joined in by the Star Magic family, its most valued staff and celebrities capped the annual affair with a bang.
But the best award of the night should have been given to the genius who conceptualized and helped organize this colossal memorable night including other corporate events, Keren Pascual, who succeeded in making it a star-sparkling happening, dahlings.
True enough, this third Star Magic Ball (a first time for moi), like in the last years, is a celebration of people who have given their best to make a mark in the Philippine entertainment biz.
For the hardworking movie stars, it was an ultra-awesome, glam, fun night.
Yes, dahlings, it surely was a happy anniversary, so take your well-deserved bow, ABS-CBN Star Magic. Bravo!
