BACKSTAGE PASS
Brewed coffee is good exfoliant

WE TRUST our moms for everything, so why not try the products they used in their 20s?

Sounds like an old wives? tale? Think again. Their products might just work on your skin. After all, you?re made of the same genes and you experience similar skin conditions. If you?re lucky, your mom already has these products so you can easily do a trial test.

I asked some women to share their favorite passed down products and solutions that have helped them on the path to beautiful, healthier-looking skin.

?My mother was very simple when it came to her regimen. I remember only two products when I was growing up. She would put Oil of Olay (in a glass bottle) on her face and Nivea cream (in a tin container). She pretty much encouraged us to keep things simple and wash our face before we go to bed. I do use Oil of Olay now (but no longer in the glass bottle). As for Nivea, I do use some of their skin care products like the Triple Action Body Lotion. I still keep my regimen as simple as possible; I wash with water only in the morning and use facial wash at night. I add on a make-up remover if I have makeup on.?

?I seemed to have taken after my grandmother?s and mom?s belief in going ?all natural, all mild.? When I was younger, I was only made to use products that didn?t have harsh chemicals in them so I used baby products: Baby lotions, shampoos, soaps, cologne and oil. These days, I still use baby products and if I ever have to try something new, I properly read the labels to make sure the product has mostly natural contents.?
-Erika A. Romero, marketing manager

?My mother gave me a great exfoliating tip using just ground coffee. It is just as good an exfoliant as many expensive products. All you need is to brew a cup of coffee first, then use the brewed coffee. Remember to use it within 20 minutes though, because oxidization after that point will make the coffee less effective.

More tips

Here are more tips for all moms to rejuvenate skin and look as young as their daughters.

Try Lancôme Genifique. It revives the genes? activity and stimulates the production of youth proteins. You?ll have visibly rejuvenated skin in just seven days.

Having garnered multiple Asian beauty awards, Pond?s Age Miracle Daily Resurfacing Cream efficiently optimizes the effects of Retinol (a form of vitamin A), resulting in better anti-aging benefits. Asian women swear by its effectiveness: It reduces age spots and wrinkles in seven days.
