THE FIRST monthly FB Members Party of the super excellent La Cabane French Bistro was a huge success, dahlings.
The perfect ingredients were there: cozy ambience, cool music, superb canapes, and overflowing tequilas and flavored margaritas sponsored by Ralph Joseph.
The charming owners and hard-to-beat chefs Thierry and vivaciously adorable Evelyn Perdrix were absolutely happy with the turnout of their first social event.
Not only the bar was very busy tended by good-looking son Charlie, but the kitchen staff had their hands full, too. Unfortunately some diners had to be politely turned down. But many still go back to La Cabane French Bistro (Pasay Road, across Park Square 1; tel. 8440377, 8438813) for their fantastic menu.
The bestsellers are duck confit and Margaret De Canard paired with curried fish, couscous and other yummy food, with a very good selection of wines.
Check it out, all you lovers of excellently prepared French food. Now you know why me and my pals have been there three times, dahlings.

Urbanite run
Bonifacio High Street was jam-packed with 4,000 awesome healthy bodies, palanggas, when Kenny Rogers Roasters held Kenny?s Open 2009 Urbanite Run. Attendees wore Kenny?s signature hues and glow-in-the-dark bracelets. It was so exciting, dahlings! But I didn?t run, I just did the power walk.
It was the first night run to use a timing-chip device that recorded the runners? progress and distances of 5K, 10K and 15K.
Kenny Rogers Roasters brilliant executive vice president and super hot achiever Frederick Siy welcomed the tons of people with ?the restaurant?s commitment to healthy eating and living a fit and active lifestyle.? Who else to do the hosting job but Kenny?s endorser Marc Nelson who gave some running tips after some warm-up exercises by Fitness First.
Emcees Marc and Rovilson Fernandez with gorgeous Paula Taylor raffled off great prizes. Kenny?s ?Urbanite? meals and other yummy dishes were dug in by the crowd. There was also dancing to the music of hot group, Tribo Manila, dahlings.
Proceeds from the race will be given to Hands-On Manila and 57:75 Movement.
A smashing success was how I could best describe Kenny?s Open 2009 Urbanite Run, palanggas!
