MANILA, Philippines ? Actress and working mom Camille Prats-Linsangan wants only the best for her 20-month-old son, Nathan. In a time when there are numerous brands to choose from, she gives us a scoop on her top picks and what makes them exceptional.
1. In choosing products for your son, do you go for the conventional brands or those which are organic? Why?
I use some conventional brands for shampoo and baby oil when I know that they are safe for my son to use. But I prefer organic. These days, we have to be really picky. A lot of products for babies just keep springing up left and right. But we really do not know what they are made of and if they are really safe for our babies.
2. What are your top five baby products? And why?
Sansfluo is the toothpaste my son uses because it doesn?t have fluoride. Safe for my son?s baby teeth.
Chicco Mosquito Repellant and Bioneem are what I use on Nathan. No harmful effects on his skin and definitely keep the mosquitoes away. Aveeno?s soothing relief keeps him less cranky and relaxed before going to bed. Johnson?s baby milk bath keeps his skin soft and Johnson?s baby oil is what I use on him before he takes a bath so he won?t feel too cold.
3. Rainy season is here and that means mosquitoes. Is there any specific repellent you favor?
Chicco Mosquito Repellant and Bioneem work wonders. They are safe for the baby to use. Bioneem is what the pediatrician recommends. It?s not usually found in convenience stores. You can ask your pedia about that.
4. Were there any products you started using during your pregnancy? What were they? And have you continued to use them even after giving birth?
Aveeno Lotion. I?m not really fond of using lotions because I don?t like the sticky feeling. But Aveeno feels like you did not apply lotion at all. I use it until now to avoid dry skin, especially nowadays when the weather is very unpredictable.
5. What is one product you absolutely swear by?
I think that would be the mosquito repellant Bioneem. I am scared of mosquitoes and I am one person they really love to bite on, maybe my son, too. I just make sure they stay away from my son. Dengue scares me! I make sure my son is protected from it but at the same time he?s also protected from the harsh chemicals some mosquito repellants may contain. He?s safe from mosquitoes and harmful chemicals as well. Win-win!
