MANILA, Philippines - Around 2.8 million: Estimated number of Botox injection procedures administered in the US in 2007, the top non-surgical cosmetic procedure in the US for that year.

At least $13 billion: Amount spent by Americans on cosmetic procedures (2007)

Between two to four hours: Estimated time for a facelift procedure

At least one to two hours: Estimated time for a liposuction procedure

Around P35,000 to P100,000: Price range of a Thermage procedure in RP, depending on the area covered. Thermage is a non-surgical procedure that promises tighter skin by smoothing out wrinkles and defining the face's natural contours with the use of radio frequency technology called ThermaCool.

15 inches: Waist-size of Cathie Jung as of 1999, reportedly the smallest waist on a living person in the world. It is about the same size as a regular jar of mayonnaise.

62: Percentage of consumers globally who say they invest in beauty products simply because it makes them feel good.

78: Percentage of consumers globally who approve of metrosexual males and say it's okay for men to spend more time and money to look good. The US spearheads this acceptance of the male beauty trend (84 percent).

US$160 billion: Estimated worth of the global beauty industry in 2003, to include skin care ($24 billion), make-up ($18 billion), hair care products ($38 billion), perfumes ($15 billion).
