MANILA, Philippines?Even the Catholic Bishops? Conference of the Philippines is not spared from ghost stories.

At least one staff member at the CBCP compound in Intramuros, Manila, swore having seen a ?white lady? in the premises twice.

But a long-time spokesman of the CBCP said he has never encountered a ghost in the CBCP premises in the last 15 years.

The CBCP employee who asked not to be identified by name related having seen a ?white lady? floating along the third floor hallway one day.

Another time, the same ?white lady? was standing beside one of the trees in the compound.

?I really got scared when I saw her. But I was not the only one, others have also seen her,? confided the employee.

A visitor to the CBCP related having also seen a ?white lady? standing outside the ladies? room on the building?s ground floor.

?I have seen ghost here. I was so scared I fainted,? she said.

CBCP media director and spokesman Msgr. Pedro Quitorio however insists he has never had a ghost encounter in all his years in the CBCP.

?In my 15 years of staying in CBCP I have not experienced [eeing a ghost]. And I live and sleep there,? he said, adding that there may be a reason ?why some people are more receptive than others.?

Quitorio advised people who see ghosts to pray for the lost souls.

?They should pray for the poor souls in Purgatory, if they are human (souls) which I?m not very sure,? he said.
