300 million: Estimated number of obese adults in the world.

At least 30: Total Body Mass Index (BMI) for a person to be considered obese. The BMI is a number calculated from a person?s weight and height that is a fairly reliable indicator of body fat. BMI = Weight (lbs) x 703 divided by height (in)2

18.5-24.9: Adult BMI range that is considered normal. Adult BMI that is below 18.5 is considered underweight, while BMI ranging from 25 to 29.9 is considered overweight.

2.6: Increase in percentage points of the prevalence of overweight and obese Filipinos in the country from 2003 to 2008, according to the 2008 National Nutrition Survey (NNS) by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (FNRI-DOST).
