THESE days, the term ?blog? has become part of our everyday language. Certain bloggers and their blog sites have gained credibility and are now considered ?authorities? on their chosen subjects. We visit blogs regularly either to gain insights on a particular topic, to get tips or just to catch up on the lives of our favorite writers.
Here?s a list I put together of my and my friends? favorite blog sites:
1. Our Awesome Planet www.ourawesomeplanet.com
Anton Diaz turned his and his family?s travels and dining adventures into one of the most popular blogsites. His unbiased opinion and personal experiences provide readers with the best guide to restaurants and vacation spots all over the country.
2. Bleachers? Brew http://bleachersbrew. blogspot.com/
As a die-hard Ateneo basketball fan, I was constantly searching for an online resource for all things Ateneo-basketball related. I discovered Bleachers? Brew. Rick Olivares, a columnist for the Business Mirror, gives his opinions, inside information and analyses not just about Ateneo basketball, but pretty much everything sports related.
3. Frugal Fashionista http://www.frugal-fashionistas.com/
Discover the budget-friendly way to dress like your favorite celebrity on this blog site. The Frugal Fashionista shows you how to dress like Kim Kardashian, Blake Lively, Cameron Diaz and many more fashion icons, at a price that won?t break the bank. You can search her site by celebrity or look up her weekly reports on 10 looks under $10.
4. Hay! Men! Ang Blog ng mga Tunay na Lalake http://tunaynalalake.blogspot.com/
Friends told me about this blog site and I decided to check it out. I had barely scrolled down the first page and I was already laughing my *@# off! The pictures, the captions, the videos are all so hilarious. They?ve even got the ?Manifesto ng Tunay na Lalake.? I have no idea who is behind this blog, but you should check it out for a good laugh.
5. The Chiconomist http://www.thechiconomist.com/
The blog owner, Celine, gives us a glimpse of her life in New York City. She tells us about sample sales, prix fixe meals and provides helpful tips on how to, as she says, ?live the fabulous life in New York City without paying full price.? Celine also has another blog site, http://www.30before30project.com/, where she shares with us her list of things to do before she turns 30. It?s a fun and fabulous journey that the author has gladly shared with readers all over the world.
6. Boboy at the Movies http://boboyatthemovies.blogspot.com
Boboy Consunji, an advertising executive who?s also a self-confessed movie buff, brings us his unique insight into movies. Instead of the usual movie reviews, Boboy goes deeper and relates how movies have affected his own personal life and how his life has influenced how he watches movies.
7. Good News Pilipinas http://goodnewspilipinas.com/
With so much doom and gloom in the Philippine newsfront, it?s refereshing to visit a blog site that talks about positive news about our country. From achievements of our entertainers like Charice Pempengco to beautiful places to visit all over the archipelago to good news about foreign investment in the country, the site helps every Filipino regain and retain Pinoy pride.
8. The TV Addict http://www.thetvaddict.com/
Because I am a TV addict, this is one blog site that I visit often and even follow on Twitter. This site helps keep me updated on the new shows that are premiering in the US, as well as reviews and recaps of my favorite shows. It even gives spoilers and ratings so I can stay forewarned about which of the shows I follow are in danger of being cancelled.
These are only a handful of blog sites that permeate the worldwide web. I?m sure you have your own favorites that you check out on a regular basis based on your own personal interests. But take the time to visit these sites and maybe you can add my favorites to yours. ?
