MANILA, Philippines—Alanis Morissette is back with another hot album. Katy Perry is topping the charts. Leona Lewis seems to be a one-hit wonder. Mariah Carey is still queen.
What happened to all the girl groups? Girls Aloud has been quiet lately. The Spice Girls have once again moved on with their own lives. Still no news on a Destiny’s Child reunion.
Thankfully, some pop girl groups are still together, making catchy tunes coupled with crazysexycool dance moves. Here are some girls belting out those challenging notes and busting out those steps for our collective entertainment.

The long wait is over now that the Pussycat Dolls are back with their latest single—yet another sexy, catchy danceable tune that the Dolls are known for. Clad in their trademark skimpy, colorful leather and spandex garb, the Dolls in the video are stuck in traffic so out of boredom, they decide to get out on the streets and dance on top of cars. Actually, nothing more happens in the rest of the video—just more dancing, just like in their previous vids. This isn’t totally bad though since the girls are known for this and are actually excellent at it.
As usual, their choreography is very impressive especially in the little dance routine near the end. The best thing about the group now is that member Carmit has left, making the group look balanced with Nicole in the middle and two members each on her each side. The song and the video are undeniably hot. They surely don’t need a cameo from Britney Spears, something reported earlier but didn’t really push through.
It’s been a while ever since Diddy’s band came out and their follow-up to the smash hit, “Damaged,” is yet another sure chart-topper. The song is hypnotic, danceable and sexy, and with a rap part from Missy Elliott, the song’s hit value is even upped.
The video for the song is comicbook-themed and the girls are in trouble: Aubrey is in the interrogation room while Aundrea is a prisoner in chains, for example. When the red light comes on (a line from the song), however, they transform to “bad” girls who can stand up for themselves. And so in the video, their transformation becomes complete with wigs, making Shannon look like Natasha from America’s Next Top Model and Aubrey ending up as a Tori Amos doppelganger. The best part about the song? The addicting line “I can be your addiction if you wanna get hooked on me.” The best part about the vid? The semi-funny group choreography.
