MANILA, Philippines – These Filipino-Australian models who are now quasi-celebrities are living the life here. Doors have been opened for them, thanks to a combination of that friendly Ozzie vibe and Pinoy spunk.
Before moving to the Philippines, Andy Smith was a tennis pro. He was doing the tennis tournament circuit in the United States, Canada, and Australia until an injury forced him out of the tour.
He decided to fly to the Philippines on a holiday after quitting his nine-to-five job in Adelaide, Australia. It was on that trip when he was spotted by his present manager. He’s now part of GMA’s noontime show “Eat Bulaga.” He also won the Mossimo Bikini Summit last year.
It has been two years now, and life couldn’t be better for him.
What’s your jeans style?
Most times it would be fairly simple, either darker or lighter blue, sometimes I go for colored jeans that’s in fashion, like black, red or blue but I need to be in the mood for the colored ones.
What’s your favorite jeans?
Brand-wise, Mossimo, Topman and Zara because their cut fits me well and I like their style.
How often do you wear them?
I wear jeans a lot, most times I go out or if I have a show or castings to go to, I’ll be in jeans.
What do you like most about it?
Well jeans are really easy to match with shoes and tops, they fit well, you can also get jeans that make you look dressed up, or you can get jeans that make you look casual so you can pretty much style it to suit the place or event you are attending. It’s my standard for most outfits.
How does it speak of your character and personality?
For me a pair of jeans can almost tell you what that person is into or what they like. For example if you wear skinny jeans (not skin-tight jeans) most times I would say that person is fashion-conscious and takes a little more time to prepare. If you are in relaxed jeans I’d say you’re the kind who likes to be comfortable in what you wear but not to look too dressed up. If you sport baggy jeans, there’s a hip-hop influence there.
How long have you been a jeans guy?
I have been sporting jeans since a very young age because I’ve loved the style of jeans ever since I could remember.
Crazy and whacky Chris Cayzer, was the life of the shoot. Born in Brisbane, he’s the type of person whose life has been defined by music. Even as a kid, he’d lug around his guitar. That early it was obvious he was passionate about his music.
He’s now working on his second album. He works on his songs even during the shoot, and shares some of his tracks with the people around. He’s inspired by the likes of John Mayer, Rob Thomas, Matchbox 20, and James Taylor.
He worked two jobs in Australia before deciding to have a long vacation here. Now aside from being a recording artist, he stars on SOP on GMA 7 every Sunday.
