MANILA, Philippines -- Globe has introduced a new kind of Tattoo -- and this one does not involve needles or pain.
Globe Broadband Tattoo provides internet connectivity for users who are always on the go. Targeting the energetic and young at heart, Globe introduced stylish USB modems that wouldn't cramp your style.
But why call it Tattoo? Menchi Orlina, Globe's Consumer Marketing Group Head, has the answer. "Access to the internet is a form of self-expression. You can be whoever you want to be online. Our tagline is "This is my internet." It's a very individualistic product, which is why we called it Tattoo."
First launched in February, Globe recently released three new models of the USB modem - Black Dragon, Purple Brushstrokes and White Techie. The Black Dragon has been the most popular model.
Globe Tattoo Broadband users enjoy a speed of up to 2Mbps, delivered via 3G and High-Speed Downlink Packet Access. This means you can chat, explore your favorite social networking sites, blog, e-mail, play games and stream music and movies with ease, wherever you are.
There are currently around 140,000 people who are enjoying the benefits of Tattoo all over the country, a fact Menchi is proud of. "The internet provides you with access to a whole slew of lifestyles. Globe provides access to that kind of visibility to the entire world. Your horizon is not just limited to the Philippines, it allows you exposure worldwide anytime. We're blessed to be able to provide that kind of connection. We're providing empowerment to Filipinos. Information is empowering. Ability for self-expression is empowering."
Menchi uses Globe Tattoo Broadband herself. "I wouldn't be able to sell it unless I use it myself. I represent the regular customer. At the office, I use the internet for work-related things. When I'm at home, social networking, I e-mail, I download, I stream videos."
Menchi believes young people will enjoy the on-the-go access Globe Tattoo Broadband provides. "Tattoo provides them access to the internet wherever they want, whenever they feel like it. That's the kind of young people we have now - gusto nila mabilisan. Everything should be there, now, ngayon na!"
