Who knows, you could be the next YOU Blog Addict.
Could you tell us something about yourself? When and why did you start blogging and who got you hooked?
I?m 29 years old, a banker by day and a blogger by night. I have long been hooked on fashion, it?s my addiction. So blogging about it is my outlet after a grueling day in the office.
I started blogging just recently, middle of August 2006. My friends have put up their own blogs since last year and I thought of doing one too, but never found time until my fiancé left for further studies abroad. I also came across The Sartorialist?s blog and was inspired by his great pictures and commentaries on people with style! With a lot of free time on my hands, and a new MacBook bought for the purpose of communicating with my fiancé, I found myself with the means and the time to actually start blogging. And I?ve been hooked since then.
What makes a blog better than a regular website? Did you try putting up your own site before you started blogging?
I?m not a techie but a fashion junkie (haha) so I really prefer blogging than maintaining a website because the former is user-friendly. I?ve never tried putting up my own site because I honestly wouldn?t know where to start.
Would you say that blogging is very addictive? How many people have you convinced to also start blogging?
It?s definitely very addictive. It?s become a habit not only to update my posts but to check on my favorite blogs? new postings as well. I still have some friends who don?t know what a blog is! But I?ve started educating them about this. Not sure though if any of them have started blogging on their own.
How has blogging made a difference in your life?
It keeps me entertained and it allows me to share my thoughts to potentially hundreds, even thousands of readers out there, whether they be regulars or those who only happen to stumble upon my site. I think I have a lot to say, given my passion for fashion, so its great that I have blogging as a medium to do just that!
What blogging software do you use? What makes it better than other blogging services?
I use Blogger. It?s very easy to use, I can upload pictures from my notebook and not have to maintain a photo hosting site. It?s also very popular so when I tell friends to check out my site, it?s easier too for them to recall.
What?s the most memorable experience you?ve had in the blogging world?
I remember the first few comments from other bloggers (who I didn?t know personally) telling me how much they liked my blog and how they could relate to my addiction to fashion. I was amazed at how easy it was to strike up an alliance or find people who share your passion simply through blogging. It really does make you feel warm and fuzzy inside
to be appreciated and to find kindred souls.
If you have to pimp your blog to readers, could you tell us in 100 words or less why they should visit your blog?
My site is dedicated to updating fashionistas and anyone interested in fashion (but have not gone full status) about the latest events in the style scene, with snippets and trivia about characters in history and the fashion industry. It?s not your run-of-the-mill write-up on fashion, I?ve been told. Joey G. Alarilla, INQ7.net
