MANILA, Philippines—Cliché as it sounds but it’s very true-Metal Gear Solid 4 is the sole reason to own a PS3. Believe it. With all the publicity surrounding MGS 4 and the gazillion of geeks supporting the game, never have I witnessed something that clearly defines “worth the hype.”
No, seriously.
Awesome graphics that is just… awesome? Check. Details, lighting, animation, and etc., are all pretty-looking, which makes MGS 4 the flagship of the PS3’s graphical capabilities.
A revamped control scheme that pushes the tactical espionage action gameplay even further? Yup. Unlike past iterations, you’ll be pushing less buttons this time around, thanks to the game’s Western-developed controls.
And finally, a gripping narrative that conclusively wraps up everything in the series? Oh, you betcha. Whether it’s the identity of the Patriots, Ocelot/Liquid’s true agenda or even the meaning of the mysterious La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo-it’s all been satisfyingly explained.
In the end, MGS 4 ultimately sums up the whole Metal Gear experience. This is series’ overlord Hideo Kojima’s finest game yet. A masterpiece. One of the best games ever released in this generation. Play it or be part of the problem. Simple.
