THUNDER ROAD
To hell and back

MANILA, Philippines—Even without the generous dose of eye candy gracing the screens, you will want to keep your eyes glued to the TV screen as 10 new teams take to the road in the most popular non-stop souped-up race around the globe.

The all new season 3 of The Amazing Race Asia debuts on action and adventure channel AXN on Sept. 11, Thursday, at 9 PM.

Up in the running for the pot of gold is Miss Universe 2005, Natalie Glebova, who just brings to the race the same relentless determination to win as her husband’s, Asia’s first ATP top-seeded tennis player, Srichaphan Paradorn.

In another first for the hit show, Korea will join other teams from across Asia, including 2 teams each from Thailand, Malaysia and India, and 1 team each from Singapore, Hong Kong and, of course, the Philippines, represented by real-life couple Geoff Rodriguez and Tisha Silang.

Premiere league

We at Super were granted an exclusive screening of the pilot episode and all we can say is that if you thought last season was awesome, look out for this one as the race becomes even more exciting. The race flags off in one of Asia’s most colorful cities, known for its rich culture and awesome cuisine. And what better way to experience the local vibe than to tuck into its exotic delights?

Witness how relations are tested as teams engage in constant catfights and shouting matches. And experience the sadness of one expatriate team as the end of the race means the end of their time spent together, as they head for home, permanently.

When the prize money is $100,000, it’s never about where or how well you start—it’s how fast you can reach the finish line.

Tough, rough

As with the past seasons, participants have to perpetually guess their next destination. Venturing into the unknown has always been the entertaining hallmark of the Amazing Race franchise. This sense of the unknown also adds to the thrill among participants and puts everyone on a level playing field.

Aptly dubbed as “The Toughest Race Ever,” the fatigue level was so high during the taping of the pilot that one of the production crew members was even hospitalized! With shorter rest periods between challenges thrown to teams, viewers can expect much sweat and tears.

So be sure to tune in to the brand new Amazing Race Asia season 3 and get your weekly adrenalin-rushing fix.

MALL RATS

TARA 3 comes to the heart of Manila today at TriNoma Activity Center from 4 pm - 9 pm.

24 teams of 2 will race around the mall to experience what it’s like to be an amazing racer.

If you haven’t signed up yet, come down and check out AXN’s amazing event. Rivermaya, Pupil, season 2’s Marc & Rovilson, and of course our new bets Geoff & Tisha will be there!
