Lip-synching is a talent

MANILA, Philippines—Singing as everyone knows is a talent. Those who can’t carry a tune though don’t have to sulk in a corner. The next best thing is to pretend to know how to sing by lip-synching.

Sure, it’s not your real voice. But if you excel in synching your lip movement to someone else’s voice and making it realistically seem it’s your own, then that’s some talent you’ve got there.

Just look at the following YouTube videos featuring brilliant lip-synchers who for a second or so, can make you think it’s really them singing.

BRITNEY’S NUMBER ONE FAN

Search for: Britney Spears Derrick Barry America’s Got Talent

Belting out a Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey song is typical and expected in talent shows, but certainly not a Britney Spears impersonation from a man!

Watch how Derrick Barry, a contestant for “Britain’s Got Talent,” dazzles the live audience and (most of the) judges with his groovy dance moves, impressive lip-synching skills and eerie resemblance to the pop princess.

Judge David Hasselhoff even looks adorable as he spills compliment after compliment.

Let me spoil it for you and reveal that despite one unimpressed judge, he still gets in—proof that lip-synching and impersonation are great entertaining talents.

MARIAH CAREY’S NUMBER ONE FAN

Search for: Mattchew Drunkenly Lip Syncs Mariah Carey’s ~Bye Bye~

Mattchew is one ordinary guy with a semi-ordinary hobby: posting videos of himself lip-synching all sorts of songs on YouTube. From a tune from the Broadway hit “Lion King” to a number from Celine Dion,

Mattchew’s song choices are pretty diverse, but all engaging nonetheless.

Take for example, his version of Mariah Carey’s “Bye Bye,” which with exaggerated gestures and hammed-up facial expressions will make you “ROFL” (rolling on the floor laughing) or at least “LOL” (laughing out loud).

Mariah’s latest hit is a tearjerker, but watch Mattchew’s interpretation of it and the tears you’ll cry will only be because of laughing so hard.

Mistakes? Forgotten “lyrics”? They make Mattchew even more adorable!

THE SPICE GIRLS’ NUMBER ONE FANS

Search for: Spice Girls Lip Sync

If you’re missing the Spice Girls, then this video can perhaps make you miss them a little less—and have you laughing for minutes.

Watch as two straight guys lip synch to the famous girl group’s first ever hit, “Wannabe,” complete with practiced facial expressions, well-rehearsed choreography and lots of passion for performing.

The best thing about the video? Mel B’s rap part, which you have to watch yourself since I don’t want to reveal spoilers.

Bonus is how the guy at the left is such a cutie.
